We are settling into our January changes as February rolls in. At the same time, we are beginning to gear up for this year’s events. Mark your calendars for February 22nd for Chili, mac n cheese, and games night & March 6th for our Family Nerf Night. And I know this seems a bit wild, but please also mark your calendars for this year’s VBS July 13-17th. July feels so far away, but it will be here before we know it! I hear that we love to go big for our VBS at Fee Fee so am excited to see what that means from this new vantage point as kids’ director.
To bring everyone up to speed, our kids’ programs saw a 60% increase in 2025, absolutely incredible. On any given Sunday morning we have around 40-50 kids participating in kids’ programming (infants-5th grade) and as many as 15-20 additional if you include the youth (6th-12th grade). Those are pretty significant numbers that are likely to continue growing as our community changes and we welcome in more young families. These numbers represent young lives that are hungry for the gospel. We have some amazing volunteers serving these kids and their families but as the number of kids increases, we will also need the number of volunteers to increase. I can assure you that there is a spot for everyone to serve: whether it be as a teacher on Sunday morning or Wednesday night, an event chaperone, a snack distributor, a one on one relationship builder, a willing substitute, an event planner, or even serving as the lead for a new kids’ ministry opportunity (like our kids’ choir!) Come join kids’ ministry and avoid giving the devil a foothold as Proverbs 16:27 warns “Idle hands are the devil’s workshop; idle lips are his mouthpiece.” I can assure you that there is nothing idle about serving with kids!
We are looking for diaper donations: size 1, 2, 3, 4, pull up donations size 3T/4T and 5T/6T, and new, unopened underwear donations sizes 3T, 4T, 5T. If you have the ability to bring these to the kids’ area in the back, we would so appreciate it!
To close, please pray for our Fee Fee Kids’ programs, volunteers, and kids. We want God to lead us in this new year and going forward. Pray that we follow Him and His plans rather than trusting in our own abilities and plans.
