We are continuing our partnership with the St. Louis Area Foodbank to provide Mobile Markets for anyone in the community who needs help with groceries.  On the second Monday of every month we will distribute food starting at 10:00 a.m.  People can just pull through our parking lot and have free groceries put in their car, and anyone in the community is welcome!  Our upcoming 2022 dates will be: February 14, March 14, April 11, May 9, June 13, July 11, August 8, September 12, October 10, November 14, and December 12.  Also, please pass the word along to anyone in your life that you know may benefit from free groceries.

    Praying for Our Missionaries

As we kick off the new year it would be great to continue to pray for our members that are serving throughout the world on the mission field. Take a moment right now as you read this to pray for Darci, Sarah, and the Hackneys as they serve overseas to declare the glory of God!

One of my favorite aspects of the Christmas season is the spirit of giving, which holds true at Fee Fee. Multiple groups and individuals have said thanks in different ways over the past few weeks that I wanted to share with you.

Each week at our Mobile Market, it is guaranteed someone will show gratitude to our volunteers. I was especially moved by a woman who came through the line recently who was so appreciative for the food we gave her, when she told us her family didn’t have any food in the house to eat for breakfast that morning. I felt so many emotions as I heard that story and I was so glad that our church continues to support a ministry like Mobile Market to help families like that one. I am heartbroken there are people in our neighborhood who deal with that level of food insecurity. I am also more determined than ever to continue that ministry. We also recently had a homeschool family call me and say they have benefited so much from our Mobile Markets in the past that they would like to come and serve one week. So, this mom and her four kids came to serve alongside us to show their gratitude for the blessing we played a part in providing.

Another expression of thankfulness came from the Girl Scouts. We host multiple Girl Scout troops here at the church through the year. On one night, three different parents come up to me separately to say how truly thankful they were for the church opening its doors allowing them to meet. As the girls were sitting around laughing with each other and learning from their leader, a parent said to me, “I don’t know if we’d be able to meet without the church. Thank you so much.”

We received a thank you card from Drummond Elementary School this past week. Over the years we have partnered with Drummond in many ways to try and be a blessing. Most recently we provided 13 winter coats for kids in their school that didn’t have them, which we do each winter. The card they gave me said, “Thank you so much for the kind donation of coats to our students. Our partnership is very important to us and we value your dedication in helping our students. We wish you a great holiday season!” As one of the social workers handed me the card, she was gushing with thankfulness for all the different ways we have been a blessing to our community.

This is just a small sampling of the various ways we pursue the good of our community. Church, I tell you all this not to boost your ego, but to make sure you know that what we do here makes a difference for the kingdom of God and for our community. You can make a difference too, through living out the Gospel and by showing kindness and generosity this Christmas season to those around you.

    Mobile Markets 2022

We have been partnering with St. Louis Area Foodbank as a temporary Mobile Market site for the past year and a half. This has been such a blessing to our community, and we love getting to be a part of it. That’s why we are so excited that the Foodbank has asked us to become a permanent Mobile Market site starting in January 2022! Really, the only change you’ll notice is they are asking us to do the Mobile Markets only once a month. So, starting in January, our Mobile Markets will be on the second Monday of each month at 10:00 a.m. Our 2022 dates will be: January 10, February 14, March 14, April 11, May 9, June 13, July 11, August 8, September 12, October 10, November 14, and December 12. We do still have two Mobile Markets left in 2021 on December 6 and 20. All of our Mobile Markets are open to anyone in the community that is in need of free groceries.

I also want to take this time to say a big thank you to all of our church members that have volunteered at our Mobile Markets! This incredible blessing would not be possible without your hard work so thank you for having a servant’s heart and for helping us pursue the good of our community!

This will culminate with our Lottie Moon Christmas Offering on Sunday, December 12. The goal this year is $27,000. All the money goes to support IMB missionaries and their work declaring the Gospel around the world.  You can give in person on Sunday morning, online through the church website, or mail in your check.

    Impact Week Thanks

Thank you to everyone that participated in our Impact Week! I was overwhelmed with seeing how many people were volunteering their time and showing compassion and love to our community. You worked in food pantries.  You helped paint homes. You donated items to refugees. You wrote thoughtful letters to people. You provided meals. You gave 458.5 hours of volunteering in one week’s time to make an impact in our community. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus! My prayer is that you will not limit this to just one week but that you will continue to have compassionate hearts and look for opportunities to serve our community year-round.

    Impact Week, September 12-18

How are you going to be a blessing to your community during Impact Week?  Our goal during Impact Week is doing as much good for the community as we can. And we need you to make that happen! Look for our sign-ups at church or on our website (www.feefeebc.org/impactweek) to be a part of this great week. We’re also encouraging every Bible study group to organize their own service opportunity. So, get your group together and talk about what you’re passionate about or how you’d like to help someone around you.  It could be volunteering with a local food pantry or homeless shelter. It could be doing yardwork for a neighbor or shut in. Brainstorm in your Bible Study this week about how you could make an impact.  Whatever work you do make sure to let Andrew (andrew@feefeebc.org) know so that we can keep track of all our work that week.

    Impact Week Celebration, September 19

At the end of Impact Week we want to celebrate! So, we’re going to have a unique Impact Week Celebration on Sunday, September 19. We will have one worship service at Redemption Ranch (77 Redemption Rd., Winfield, MO 63389) at 11:00 a.m. Then we will have a free lunch followed by an afternoon of fun! Some fun things to do there include hiking, canoeing, swimming, volleyball, yard games, board games, and more! This will be a great day of fellowship and celebration of all that God has done in the past week. Sign up for lunch in the Connection Center at church or by contacting the church office (314) 739-1525.

    Back to School

School is starting very soon! I know that makes some kids excited and some kids nervous. Families will be doing a lot of prepping for going back to school. One thing I would encourage you to do to help prep your students is to pray with them and for them. Pray that they will do well this year, that they will have good friendships, and for their safety at school. Most importantly, though, pray that God will use them to glorify Him this year at school.  Talk to your kids about different ways they can point people to Jesus at school.

Going back to school also makes every teacher experience stress. They need to be prayed for also. On Sunday, August 22, we will be having a special prayer time in both services for our students, teachers, and school staff.  Make sure to join us that day as we lift our schools up in prayer!

    Upcoming Mobile Market Dates

We definitely still have needs in our community, and we are glad to partner with the St. Louis Area Foodbank to help those needs! Anyone in the community is welcome to drive through our parking lot on the following Mondays from 10:00 a.m. until noon (or whenever we run out of food) to have FREE groceries put in their car!
