    Preschool Care Needed

We are having more and more people returning to in-person worship so that means more children are needing care. Therefore that also means that loving, caring adults and teens are needed to help! If you can give your time during one worship service each month to care for our preschoolers, please contact Kathy (kathy@feefeebc.org). You will be doing a great service for our families and your church!

AWANA Club Awards Night is May 19 at 6:00 p.m.

Plan to come and see what our kids have accomplished!

    Church-Wide Movie Night, May 21 at 7:30 p.m.

Join us in the courtyard on Friday night, May 21, we will be watching the new Disney movie, Raya and the Last Dragon! Bring a blanket and/or lawn chairs and your own drinks as we watch this exciting new release and have fun together! We will even provide the popcorn!

    VBS Wilderness Escape, July 26-30, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Would you love to be a tribe leader to lead the children and preschoolers? Or maybe an Israelite Tent Host, where kids will learn desert life in the Israelite camp through various crafts and skills like: sandal stitcher, butter churner, weaver, and musician? Not sure where you fit in? Don’t worry! We have a place for you! Let’s have fun together as we show kids how God guides and provides in this unique way.

Can you help us gather supplies for VBS? We will be using A LOT of newspaper. So if you have any old newspapers, please bring them to me and we will put them to good use! A more extensive list will be provided next month listing all the supplies we will need help gathering for VBS.

A lot of hands will make this VBS a successful one! Sign up today to help in any of these ways. Please pray for the volunteers and kids as all the details fall into place for VBS 2021!

Sports Crusaders Basketball Camp, July 26-30, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Hey sports fans!! Have you missed out on sports this last year? Well, we have an opportunity for you! We will be hosting our annual basketball camp with the Sports Crusaders the same week as VBS, and we need some help to make this a successful event for our kids. Most of the needs will be helping to take care of our camp coaches and leaders, who are college students, as they work hard leading our kids in the sport. Housing, which includes bed and breakfast, and meal gift cards for other meals are the things we need help with for that week.

If you or your Bible Study groups can help with any of these things, please contact Kathy (kathy@feefeebc.org) or (314) 739-1525. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Please be in prayer for the workers, the children who will attend, and the Sports Crusaders, who will lead the basketball camp.

Registration for VBS and Sports Camp is available on our website: https://feefeebc.org/free-vbs-fee-fee/. There will be a limit to registration for both VBS and basketball camp, so register early.

Fee Fee Baptist, you are always so generous with your gifts of supplies and money when a need arises in the Children’s Ministry. THANK YOU for providing those gifts! You are a generous people! We are truly blessed!

We had a great response to our first two activities since we resumed bimonthly events. A group of 24 went to Kimmswick, and 19 to Zia’s with a quick stop at the Art Museum. I had several of you complain about still being hungry when we left…just kidding!

Our next trip to the zoo on May 12 will be slightly more physically demanding, although we will make it as short of a distance as possible. The bus will drop you off in front of the north entrance; the dinosaur exhibit is where the Children’s Zoo was previously located. That is neither a difficult nor long walk. For those who want to visit the reptile and insect exhibit, it is nearby, as are the polar bear, grizzlies, puffins and penguins. The zoo does require you to wear a mask at all times. The cost of this exhibit is $5.95. The exhibit has 16 different groupings of animatronic and stationary dinosaurs. After the zoo, we will head down to the Spaghetti Factory on the Landing for lunch.

Please sign up for all Prime Time events at the Connection Center located through the doorway between the Media Center and Coffee Café.

A sign up sheet for the banquet for Legacy weekend is available in the Connection Center. The deadline is May 17, so that the food can be ordered. It’s going to be a fun night with music from the 40s, 50s, and 60s, along with an intro from our speaker on Sunday morning who will challenge us to “Have a Blast While We Last!”

I am so enjoying the spring weather and the sunshine! It’s nice to sit outside and absorb that heavenly sunlight. It’s also nice to be able to be active again. Our next activity is a trip to the Science Center to view the mummy exhibit. Alternatively, you can visit the OmniMax theater to watch Back From The Brink about animals species saved from extinction. The Mummies of the World exhibit is the largest collection of real mummies and related artifacts. It is senior day, but prices are not currently listed on the website. Lunch will be at Zia’s! As always, the bus will leave at 10:00 a.m. unless otherwise noted.

I know many of you have been following along in the Grounded reading plan, which we will complete on May 7. Several of you have even participated in Marco Polo groups. Congrats to all who have accepted and met this challenge. Several of you have expressed the desire to continue, and while our plans are not quite finalized, I can share basic info with you. After our completion of the New Testament, for two weeks we will go back and revisit ten significant scriptures that we would like to spend a little more time studying. Next, Pastor Zach will be preaching from the book of Isaiah during the summer, so we will read the book of Isaiah, one chapter a day, starting May 24. In September, we will begin the Pentateuch, the first five books of the Old Testament, which we will complete by reading two chapters a day Monday-Friday until the end of the year. There will not be a formal sign-up, but I am hoping that many of you will continue the habit of reading scripture daily. Getting the Word into us is exactly what God commands us to do to equip us to face the world with love each day.

Finally, mark your calendars for Saturday, May 22 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. We are going to kick off Legacy Weekend with a party! We will eat a yummy catered dinner, hear a short devotional from Dr. Ross, and be entertained by a group performing music from the 40s, 50s and 60s. Don’t miss out on the fun!

It will be and you won’t want to miss being a part of it!  Contact Kathy (kathy@feefeebc.org) for the part you want to play to introduce kids to this unique way to see how God guides and provides. Next month we will have available supplies that will be needed for this event, so stay tuned!

It’s hard to believe Easter has past, but I pray the expectancy of the hope that Christ brings hasn’t faded! Paul tells us in Colossians 1:5, “Your faith and love are based on the hope you have. What you hope for is stored up for you in heaven. You have already heard about it. You were told about it when the message of truth was given to you. I’m talking about the good news that has come to you.”

We are teaching that to our preschoolers and children in Bible Study at 9:45 a.m. on Sundays, KidsZone at 11:00 a.m. during worship, and to our preschoolers in Bible Study and Worship Care on Sunday mornings, AND in AWANA on Wednesday evenings! There are only a few more weeks left in AWANA. I am so thankful for dedicated teachers who are willing to teach our kids God’s word. AWANA Club Awards night is May 19 at 6:00 p.m. Plan to come and see what our kids have accomplished!

Church-wide Movie Night will be in the courtyard on May 21 (time to be announced). Bring a blanket and/or lawn chairs and your own drinks. We will provide popcorn!

July 26-30 is VBS Wilderness Escape and Sports Camp. VBS will be in the morning and basketball camp in the afternoon.  We hope to offer VBS in-person and virtual!  If you would like to be involved in leading, it’s not too early to let me know, kathy@feefeebc.org. Registration will be online in April. Please be in prayer for the workers, the children who will attend, and the Sports Crusaders who will lead the basketball camp.

Please sign up in the new Connection Center for our April 16 outing. We have a brand new area for our members where the sign-up sheets will be. Walk towards the media center through the coffee Café and it is on your left, before entering the Café Annex. The Fee Fee mailboxes have also been moved there.

On Friday, April 16 we will leave at 10:00 a.m. for Kimmswick. Lunch will be at the Blue Owl and there will be time for some shopping afterward. I hope you will be able to join me! It’s been a long time and I personally am looking forward to some great food, much-needed fellowship, a lot of laughs, and a little shopping.

I also have one correction from the last issue. The date for the Perryville trip is Friday, June 11 (not July). Good catch, Prime Timers. I think most of you called me to tell me!

I know that many of you have been reading along in our Grounded Reading Plan through the New Testament. I would be interested in knowing your thoughts about what to do next. Do you want to continue the momentum by reading though the Old Testament at a slower rate (perhaps 2 chapters a day, Monday – Friday, with catch-up on the weekend)? Or do you need a break? Do you have other suggestions? You can email me at gloria@feefeebc.org, or text me at (314) 604-6071, or call me at the church office (314) 739-1525, but remember, I am not in the office every day and this is not the best way to reach me.

Hope you are all enjoying God’s handiwork as He is changing the seasons for us. Don’t sneeze too much and I look forward to being with you on our upcoming event on April 16!

Preschool and children’s Bible Study has started again at 9:45 a.m. on Sundays. I am so thankful for our dedicated teachers who are willing to teach our kids God’s Word. On Easter Sunday, we will divide into age group classes:  K-1st grade in room 205; 2nd-3rd grade in room 209; and Livewires (4th-5th grade) in room 303.

The Senior Council met recently and planned events for the next quarter. I think you will be very excited about the fun activities we came up with! Our first event will be April 16, and we feel very confident that most of us will have had their second dose of the vaccine and be two weeks beyond the second dose. Below is a schedule you can add to your calendar:

    • April 16, Friday – Blue Owl in Kimswick for lunch and shopping. The bus will leave at 9:00 a.m.
    • April 27 – Science Center Mummies exhibit at 10:00 a.m. Lunch will follow at Zia’s.
    • May 12, Wednesday – Dinosaur exhibit at the Zoo, along with penguins, puffins, grizzlies, polar bears, and an assortment of other animals. The bus will leave at 10:00 a.m. and lunch will be at the Old Spaghetti Factory following.
    • May 22, Saturday – Kickoff for our Legacy Weekend! We will have a catered dinner and entertainment on Saturday night. You won’t want to miss this.
    • Friday, July 11 – Perryville historic sites with lunch at Stones. The bus will leave at 10:00 a.m.
    • Tuesday, June 22 – Soup, Salad and Movie Day. At 11:30 a.m. we will eat and watch Ruby Bridges, in our dining room.

So many fun events coming up! I’m pretty excited! Hope you are, too. It will be good to go on adventures again!

  • Prime Time – Vol. 61, No. 5

As more and more of you get your vaccinations, I feel confident that we will soon be enjoying some trips and lunches together. I’m really looking forward to that time. God made us for relationship with Him and others. It’s been a year and we might just have to learn all over again. I know I’ve learned some lessons about the value of relationship.

I am hoping some of you will join me on Facebook live for about 30 minutes every Wednesday morning beginning March 10 at 9:00 a.m. I will choose some passages from that week’s readings in the Grounded reading plan and talk about them. You can make comments, ask questions, or share an insight. Go to our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/FeeFeeBC/ or click the Facebook link at the bottom of our homepage. You can also follow Fee Fee on Facebook and it will notify you when it begins. You can watch it live and interact or watch it later at your convenience.

I’m still looking for suggestions for activities. You should have good immunity to the virus 31 days after your first shot so the countdown to fun has begun.

“I am absolutely sure that not even death or life can separate us from God’s love. Not even angels or demons, the present or the future, or any powers can do that. Not even the highest places or the lowest, or anything else in all creation can do that. Nothing at all can ever separate us from God’s love because of what Christ Jesus our Lord has done,” (Romans 8:38-39).
