    Families

Watch for a digital survey from me regarding Family Ministry. I want to hear from you about our children and family ministries.

    Midweek Activities

We have begun our new church year for midweek activities, with AWANA for kids from 6:00-7:00 p.m. There is something for ALL ages: Puggles for ages birth-2; Cubbies for age 3 through Pre-K; Sparks and TnT for K-3rd grades; and the new mission-focused program called Kids in Action for 4th and 5th grade LIVEWIRES. And parents, there are Bible Study options for you as well: Bible Study and Prayer with Pastor Zach; Men’s Bible Study; and Women’s Bible Study. We would love to have you join!

    Trunk or Treat

Put Trunk or Treat on your calendar for Sunday, October 31, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Be thinking about how you want to be involved: have a decorated trunk to give out candy, help setup and clean up, greet people, or face paint.  Of course, we will be collecting a TON of candy starting October 10. There will be an area to deposit your candy donations. Let’s BOOOO-tifully meet and serve our community on October 31 in the afternoon, then you have the evening free to meet YOUR community of trick-or-treaters!

    Ministry Opportunity

We are in need of people who are willing to serve their church! We need loving caring workers for preschool care during worship. Please let me know if you can serve our families in this way. As always, thank you for your willing heart to serve.

  • Prime Time – Vol. 61, No. 19

I’m looking forward to eating fried chicken with you at Pere Marquette on Thursday, September 30! The bus will leave church at 10:00 a.m. We will eat our lunch and then go outside and sit on their patio and play games. Please bring a card game, dominoes, or anything else you would like to play. I’m sure it will be a beautiful fall day! And invite a friend to come with us!

A deposit of $100 is due on Friday, October 1, for our trip to the Amana Colonies. Please email me at gloria@feefeebc.org to let me know if you will have a roommate, or if you want to have a ticket for the play at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday night. The cost for the play is $32. When I have this information, I will be able to tell you your total cost. If you plan on having a roommate, your cost before food is approximately $150.

I also want to thank each one of you for your faithful contributions to our backpack ministry and to our dinners at Loaves and Fishes. These ministries are not only help people, but they show the love of Jesus to our community.

  • Prime Time – Vol. 61, No. 18

Well, that was a fast summer! Now that it’s September, I’m looking forward to pumpkin spice everything. Incidentally, I really, really like anything pumpkin if you’re in to baking.

Since we moved the trip to the Amana Colonies to October, we are going to go to Pere Marquette on Thursday, September 30. A sign-up sheet will be in the Connection Center, right behind the coffee café.  We will eat their famous fried chicken and then go out onto their wonderful patio and play games. You could also go for a hike if that’s your thing. It will be a wonderful time of fellowship outside as we see God transitioning us to fall. Hope you will join us! Even if you haven’t joined us before, this would be a great trip to try us out. This is a tradition for the Prime Time group as the food is spectacular and the setting is gorgeous.

I hope you are keeping up with our reading plan in the first five books of the Bible. It is so good to look at the patriarchs and see that they were men just like us. They made mistakes, they didn’t tell the truth, they sometimes doubted God, but God loved them anyway. He loves us too. And He wants us to choose to love Him back. I hope your relationship with God is growing continually, and reading scripture every day will certainly help that.

By the next Forerunner I will have a definite price for our trip to the Amana colonies. It will require a deposit so that we can make sure that our costs are covered. Join us for this trip; it will be a great adventure!

    Impact Week

Impact Week is coming up September 12-18. Perhaps you and your family plan to meet a need in your community? Clean out gutters for a neighbor? Take cookies to police or fire stations? Pick up trash in a local park?  There are lot of small projects you can do as a family that make a BIG difference in people lives.

    Midweek Activities

Wednesday, September 8 we will begin our new church year for midweek activities, with AWANA for kids from 6:00-7:00 p.m. There is something for ALL ages: Puggles for ages 0-2; Cubbies for age 3-pre-K; Sparks and TnT for K-3rd grades; and the new mission-focused program called Kids in Action for 4th and 5th grade LIVEWIRES. If you could give just 30 minutes of your time to listen to our AWANA kids recite their verses, that would be so helpful for them. And parents, there are Bible Study options for you as well: Bible study and Prayer with Pastor Zach; Men’s Bible Study; and Women’s Bible Study. We would love to have you join!

    Wednesday Nights

On Wednesday, September 8 we will begin our new church year for Wednesday night activities, with AWANA for kids at 6:00 p.m. We will have Puggles for ages 0-2; Cubbies for age 3-pre-K; K-3 grades will attend Sparks and TnT; and we have a little something different for our older kids in KiA (Kids in Action), for 4-5 grade LIVEWIRES. If you could give just 30 minutes of your time to listen to kids recite their verses, that would be so helpful for them. You won’t regret investing in our kids!

    Trunk or Treat

Summer is speeding by. Soon our days will be filled with school schedules, football, and the Cardinals in the World Series. Hope you have enjoyed summer as much as I have!

In the meantime, I’ve been working on our fall activities. We have had to change our date for the Amana Colonies because of a date conflict for our bus driver/guide. The dates are now a Thursday and Friday, October 21-22. While there we will attend a play, Ole and Lena at Cafe Chaos, a musical comedy. We will also visit antique shops, restaurants, and museums that will be within walking distance of our hotel. It looks like show tickets are $32.50, transportation will be $40 and your hotel room with be $50-$60 based on double occupancy. In other words, the trip will cost you less than $150 if you have a roommate, plus whatever you purchase and eat. The hotel I’m looking at does have a fridge in each room for snacks and drinks. There will be a sign-up sheet so I can purchase show tickets and reserve rooms. Please indicate if you want your own room or if you will have a roommate.

Cancelling our original date gives us an open date at the end of September for another event, so I’m looking at Aires and Pere Marquette as possibilities. More of that in the next Forerunner.

    VBS/Sports Camp Recap

We had a wonderful week at Wilderness Escape VBS and Sports Crusaders basketball camp. The kids had so much fun and learned about the attributes of God. Thank you, Church, for providing the resources so we can host such great events for our families. We had 5 children give their lives over to Jesus! And we raised $344.00 for our alpaca mission project in Ecuador. I can’t say enough good things about our volunteers who gave their time in so many ways by leading the tribes, helping to set up and take down, doing crafts, teaching, and modeling Jesus. They were awesome!

    Welcome Weekend

Sunday, August 15 is an exciting welcome event as our preschoolers, children, and youth move up to the next grade/department. We invite preschoolers, children, and their parents for a continental breakfast as we give kids an opportunity to see their new classrooms and meet their teachers. Promotion Day is August 22, as the kids and youth move into their new classes.

    Wednesday Night Activities

On Wednesday, September 8 we will restart our regular activities for the school year. AWANA is where it’s at! We will have Puggles and Cubbies for ages 0 through pre-K; grades K-3 will attend Sparks or TnT; and grades 4-5 (Livewires) will get to take part in CIA (CHILDREN IN ACTION), a little something different for our older kids! You don’t want to miss out on the most fun night of the week!

    Trunk or Treat

Put Trunk or Treat on your calendar for Sunday, October 31 in the afternoon! Start thinking about how you want to be involved. Oh, and don’t forget to start planning your costume! More info to come later.

“Give praise to the only God. He is our Savior. Glory, majesty, power, and authority belong to him. Give praise to him through Jesus Christ our Lord. Give praise to the One who was before all time, who now is, and who will be forever. Amen,” (Jude 1:25).

Summer is quickly passing us by. I’m so thankful for the cooler weather this week and I’m sure you are too. Our summer schedule of activities is winding down, so if you have suggestions for what to do this fall, please let me know.

Our next activity is Adult VBS and I am leaning toward a study of Elijah, because Elijah’s dependence upon God seems very relevant for today. But you will have to come to find out! Join us August 23-26, (Monday-Thursday) from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. We will have snacks, and hopefully some music, and a great time of fellowship and Bible Study.  We will go out to lunch together on the last day after our study. Hope you can attend and bring some friends.

In September, we will do a day trip to Casey, Illinois to see all the BIG things. Check out their website, www.bigthingssmalltown.com, if you are wondering what this is. As usual, you will need to sign up. We also have the trip to the Amana Colonies, which is an overnight trip from September 30 through October 1. Our bus driver and guide for the trip might have a conflict on those dates so we might need to change the dates. I will have definite info and pricing in the next Forerunner. Thanks in advance for your patience as details are being worked out.

Have you started reading through the Pentateuch with us? By the end of next year, we should have read through the ENTIRE Bible together! We would love for you to join a T-group or the Grounded Bible Study group on Sunday morning if you would like to talk about what you are reading! Pick up your reading plan in the Welcome Center or download from our website.

Don’t forget to sign up for our trip the Churchill Museum in Fulton, scheduled for Monday, August 9.  I have arranged a tour for us at 12:30 p.m. We will eat lunch when we get there at Beks, https://www.beksshop.com which is supposed to be one of the best restaurants in Fulton. You can check out their menu beforehand by going to their website.
