  • College & Outreach – Vol. 62, No. 10

    “Now he told them a parable on the need for them to pray always and not give up,” (Luke 18:1).

    I pray that our study of the parable of the persistent widow encouraged you to pray always and not give up. We serve a loving God who desires to hear our prayers, “because the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are open to their prayer” (1 Peter 3:12). In their exile, God encourages his people with these tender words: “You will call to me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:12-13). Be encouraged church; the God of all Creation wants to hear from you! If it is a brand-new request, or the same prayer you’ve prayed a thousand times, God delights in hearing from his people. Don’t know what to pray? Have no fear, “because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groanings. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because he intercedes for the saints according to the will of God” (Romans 8:26-27).

    There are countless ways you can be praying for Fee Fee Baptist Church, her staff, and her people this summer; let me draw your attention to two of them:

    Chi Alpha in Washington D.C.

    30 of your students and leaders will travel to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area for a missions project June 10-18. Pray now for Church at Saint Charles in Waldorf, MD, where your team will be renovating classrooms. Pray for Lifestyles of Maryland, a homelessness and hunger ministry your team will work alongside during our stay. Pray for travel mercies, expectant hearts, and working hands.

    Dominican Republic

    A team of 11 members and staff will travel to the Dominican Republic for church partnership and children’s ministry July 9-15. Pray for health before and during our travels, as we do not want any sickness to sideline the ministry God will do. Pray now for the hearts of the children who will attend VBS during our stay. Pray for the translators who will communicate the love of Jesus in their own language.

    Thank you for joining us in prayer for these missions endeavors this summer. May God bless you and give you strength to pray always and not give up.

  • College & Outreach – Vol. 62, No. 9

    Hello Fee Fee Baptist Church! My name is Logan Mills, and I am your new Interim College and Outreach Minister. I first want to say that I am thankful for the opportunity to serve this church alongside Pastor Zach and the rest of your staff. Secondly, a bit of introduction. God has been so good to me! I was raised in central Arkansas, where I made a profession of faith at age six. My family moved across the country when I was in middle school and landed in the St. Louis area to begin high school. As my family grew more involved with First Baptist Church of O’Fallon, MO, I grew to understand that I had not been living my life for the Lord as a teenager and felt God graciously calling me to experience more of Him.

    At age 18, I rededicated my life to the Lord and began truly living out my faith. Praise the Lord for his grace! I quickly understood the joy and beauty of studying God’s Word, worship with His church became sweet to my ears, and I could not get enough of God or His people. I began college at the University of Missouri, studying accounting and business. This is not what the Lord intended me to study for long. In the spring semester of my freshman year, I would sense an undeniable call to serve the Lord and His church through vocational ministry. I would then transfer to Missouri Baptist University, where I would complete a Bachelor of Science in Christian Ministry with a minor in Youth Ministry. God then opened an opportunity for an internship under the president of Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, allowing me to begin my Master of Divinity. I am continuing my master’s studies at Midwestern’s extension campus in O’Fallon, MO, and anticipate graduating in summer 2023.

    Outside of my ministry and schoolwork, I enjoy playing Nintendo games with my family and friends, staying active in the gym, and hiking various trails in the area. May God bless you and give you peace!

    Blood Drive – March 18

Alternatively, you may call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767) to schedule. The drive will be held in the Family Life Center, so please park in the gym parking lot for easy access.     Volunteer with Joni and Friends

    On Saturday, March 26, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., we have an opportunity to volunteer at Joni and Friends 2nd Annual Walk ‘n’ Roll. This event raises disability ministry awareness and needed ministry funding. Joni and Friends has been providing hope and help to those with disabilities for decades now. We are going to volunteer at this event by helping with set up, clean up, and serving lunch. There is no age limit to serve, so kids are welcome to serve with their parents! Sign up to serve in the Connection Center at church or by contacting Andrew (andrew@feefeebc.org).

    Tom and Lela Warner Missions Fund – February 27

    We will have a special offering for the Tom and Lela Warner Missions Fund on Sunday, February 27. All money given towards that fund goes to support our members that go on mission trips. If you give, make sure to label your gift with “Warner Mission Fund.”

    Upcoming Mobile Markets Schedule Changes

    Our schedule has slightly changed, so make sure to mark these dates on your calendar. Our upcoming Mobile Markets will be June 28, July 19, and August 2, 16, and 30.  Anyone in the community is welcome to drive through our parking lot those days from 10:00 a.m. until noon (or whenever we run out of food) to have FREE groceries put in their car!

    Blood Drive, July 14

    Our next Blood Drive with the American Red Cross is on Wednesday, July 14 from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. It is recommended that all donations be scheduled ahead of time. Simply go to our site, https://feefeebc.org/blooddrive/, click on the Register Here link, and schedule your donation. You can also call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767). The drive will be held in the Family Life Center, and everyone donating can drive around to the back of the church and park in the lot by the gym and enter through the gym doors.     Free Market, August 7

    If you have been doing spring cleaning, I hope you have held onto some good things that you can give away during our Free Market this summer on Saturday, August 7. The Free Market is our annual “garage sale” but everything is FREE! Church members can give away their new or lightly used items at this event. So as you are going through your house and see the things that you don’t really use or need anymore, hold onto them for our Free Market.

    Free groceries are still being given out every other Monday! Could you use some free groceries? Or do you know someone who does? Then have them come through our parking lot on Monday, May 17 from 10:00 a.m. until noon (or until the food runs out). We ask that you have space in your vehicle for the food items and that you not leave your vehicle during the distribution. We are also signed up for Mobile Markets with St. Louis Area Foodbank on June 14 and 28 (NOTE: St. Louis Area Foodbank is closed on May 31, Memorial Day, so we will NOT have a Mobile Market that day). You can contact Andrew if you have any questions or would be interested in volunteering.

    All Church Workday

    Saturday, April 24 will be our annual “All Church Work Day.” Put the date on your calendar so we can beautify our courtyard and flowerbeds. As you have probably noticed, some work has already started outside, but there is plenty more to be done. We will see you at 8:30 a.m. and should wrap up around noon. Bring gardening tools if you have them.

  • Community Connection – Vol. 61, No. 6

    Week of Prayer for North American Mission, March 29-April 4

    I hope you will pray with us March 29 – April 4 during our Week of Prayer for North American Missions. You can download the prayer guide on the Downloads section of our website. Also, be praying about what you would be willing to give to support those missionaries. On Sunday, April 4 we will take a special offering for the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. Our goal this year is $13,000. All the money given goes towards North American Missionaries spreading the Gospel all over our continent.

    Easter is Coming!

    I hope that you will worship our risen Savior with us either in person or online on Sunday, April 4! My question for you is who are you going to invite to come and worship with you? The Gospel message will be declared. Who do you know that needs to hear that message? If you are coming in person, invite them to join you. If you’re watching online, invite them to watch online. Either way, there are people in your life, and mine, that need to hear the Gospel message.  Who will you invite?

  • Community Connection – Vol. 61, No. 1

    Upcoming Mobile Markets

    Our Mobile Markets with St. Louis Area Foodbank have returned in 2021! Anyone in our community who is struggling with getting groceries is welcome to come to the church to have contactless groceries put in their car for FREE every other Monday from 10:00 a.m. until noon, (or whenever we run out of food). Our upcoming dates are January 25, February 8 and 22.

    Online Schedule

    We have started a new online schedule during the week. We will still have our Live Prayer nights on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. on Facebook. We have also added some new things during the Grounded series to engage people in different ways. On Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. we will be posting Grounded videos to YouTube and linked to our other social media sites which will be interviews, devotional thoughts, or Biblical insights. Then on Thursdays we are going to be hosting a unique virtual small group opportunity with our Sermon Rewind. We will replay our Sunday sermon to Facebook at 7:00 p.m. for us to watch together and the online pastor will have discussion questions in the chat throughout, reflecting on what Pastor Zach is talking about. Then at the end of the message there will be a link in the chat to a Zoom meeting where we can dive deeper into God’s Word together and talk about the discussion questions. Join us on Facebook live every Thursday and then follow us to our Zoom small group to experience this time of coming together around God’s Word.

    We hope these unique online opportunities will allow us to build our lives on Jesus in new ways!

    New Year’s Resolutions

    I love getting to set New Year’s Resolutions. They give me some joy in the possibilities of good things to come in the next year. Will I achieve all of my resolutions? No. But will some good things happen because of my attempts towards these resolutions? Absolutely! For example, this past year I set a goal to read two books a month. As of writing this I’m only at 22 books. Just because I didn’t reach my goal of 24 doesn’t mean those 22 books were a waste. I count that as a win!

    So what resolutions are you setting for yourself this year? I have a suggestion: set a resolution that helps you “seek the good of our community for the glory of God.” That’s the last half of our mission statement. What is a resolution you could set for 2021 that involves you doing good for your community that brings glory to God? We have a lot of opportunities that you could volunteer here at church: providing food for Loaves and Fishes once a month, serving as a part of our Mobile Market team, giving more financially towards benevolence, or serving at our International Community Food Pantry. And it doesn’t have to be something organized through the church. Find a ministry or organization that you are passionate about and volunteer for them. We want Fee Fee to be known as a place that cares about our community and that happens when we will get out in our community and love people for God’s glory. So, what is a resolution you can set for 2021 that will “seek the good of our community for the glory of God?”
