    Biblical Generosity

    I know what you’re probably thinking…“Oh no, Britton’s talking about money again!”

    And you would be wrong. Technically, I’m writing about money this time. Specifically, I’m writing about the ways I’ve seen our church model biblical generosity over the past month.

    In case you missed it, the government shut down this year. While I’m hoping it’s operating again by the time you’re reading this, the shutdown and its consequences, such as delayed SNAP payments, affected many people. Needs increased. But where needs increased, our church’s generosity abounded all the more. The food and money you donated helped dozens of people each week feed their families. They kept kids from going hungry, parents from skipping meals, and struggling community members from going into debt just to put food on the table.

    As we discussed on Sunday, November 3rd, biblical generosity consists of both compassion and wisdom. It’s seeing the needs of the people around us, caring enough to do something about it, and operating with wisdom to maximize the impact of our generosity. When it comes to our community’s needs during the government shutdown, I want to celebrate Fee Fee for seeing the needs, caring enough to give, and managing your money in such a way that enabled you to give to this cause at a moment’s notice. Praise the Lord for your generosity!

    I also want to mention the Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. At the time of writing, I don’t have any totals for how many boxes our church filled. But I know it’s more than zero, so I will once again celebrate your generosity.

    I haven’t even mentioned your generosity regarding our weekly offering, through which all the operations of our church take place. Thanks to your generosity, our kids ministry is flourishing, our student ministry is growing, and we are connecting more and more people to the unifying and life-transforming power of the gospel.

    As we approach the Christmas season, we will have many more opportunities to practice biblical generosity. The Lottie Moon offering for international missions. Angel tree for local families. Not to mention all the normal costs associated with the holiday season at Fee Fee. I’m constantly blown away by our church’s generosity, and I know God will use every donation to the praise and glory of his name. I can never say it enough—thank you for your generosity.

  • Prime Time, Vol. 65, No. 11, November 2025

    Fall is such a beautiful time of year. Your Senior Adults are out and about in fellowship and ministry and, almost always, great food! See below November and December events:

    November 12 – Pere Marquette Lodge/lunch, leave at 10am. This is family style meal but each person will pay for their portion.

    November 14 – Missouri Baptist University is hosting “White Christmas” performed by the students and Chick-Fil-A lunch. It is $25 for play and lunch. Get to Kathy or Church office by Nov. 2 cash or check made out to Fee Fee Baptist Church. The play is at 9am so bus will leave at 8am. Sounds like a delightful morning together. Sign up in Café if you plan to attend.

    December– see the lights and a ministry project (dates TBD)

    We usually return between 2-3pm for all events.

    If you haven’t participated in any event with this group, it’s time for you to check this out; and, of course, bring a friend. We always want to be in the business of inviting friends to be part of this great fellowship at Fee Fee Baptist Church!

    Watch for more details on all of these events. Signup sheets will be in the café so we know how many to plan on.

    We have also thrown out lots of ideas of things to do in the new year so come on and join us!

    Operation Christmas Child

    A reminder that Operation Christmas Child boxes are due  November 9th.

    Food trucks and Firepits

     Get ready for Food trucks and Firepits on Friday night, November 14, from 5:30-7:30 right here on our parking lot.  Come eat dinner with hundreds of your friends from the community.  Vendors on hand will include Blues Wood Fired Pizza and the Hacienda Food Truck, both of which were at our last food truck night in July and drew rave reviews.  Hopefully it will be a little cooler in November so instead of Kona Ice, Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee will be here.  You can enjoy your favorite form of caffeine hot or iced!  Tables will be available for sitting or standing.  Bring a lawn chair to sit around a fire pit for a while and roast a marshmallow.  Be sure to invite all your friends and neighbors to this community event.  Hope to see you there.

    Angel Tree

     Our annual Angel Tree will be going up November 30. This is a wonderful opportunity to help those who are less fortunate in our community. Take an ornament from the tree in the Welcome Center. Bring your wrapped gift with the ornament attached and place it under the tree. The due date for gifts is December 14. Thank you.

    Backpack Ministry

    Pattonville schools are in session.  We are currently providing about 30 food bags a week for children in need. Please place food in the donation bin or you can make a financial donation. The following food items are recommended:  mac & cheese cups, mashed potato cups, canned pasta, applesauce cups, fruit cups, granola bars, snack crackers, mini muffins. See Phyllis Hackney for details.

    Library

    The church library is now permanently open for your convenience. The library is self-serve and no formal checkout is required for most items.  The library offers books, puzzles, and videos. Ten highly recommended books are available on the main table and a simple paper checkout for these books is requested.

    Inclement Weather Cancellation Policy

     Fee Fee Baptist Church will cancel services, Bible studies and activities when it is deemed necessary for the safety of church members driving to and from church as well as walking and moving around the church properties itself. The church no longer mirrors Pattonville School District’s cancellation policy as they have changed their procedures in calling for cancellations.

    We will take many criteria into formulating a decision on cancellations.

    On days Fee Fee is not cancelled, but inclement weather is happening, it is the sole discretion of the bus drivers if they feel comfortable picking up church goers. All cancellations will be conveyed through TV stations

    Channels 2, 4, and 5. It will be posted on our website, social media and notifications will be sent out through our church app.

    When God Feels Distant

    Sometimes God feels close—so close we can literally feel his presence. We stand on a mountaintop, faith-filled experience, knowing beyond the shadow of a doubt that God is real and that he loves us. Camps, retreats, random Sunday mornings, sometimes expectedly, sometimes not—at different times God shows up in tangible ways, and his presence envelops us.

    At other times, the opposite feels true. He feels distant, cold, unresponsive. Life hurls unrelenting pain and sorrow upon us, wave after wave. We witness injustice, but it seems like God doesn’t see it. We experience tragedy, and it feels like God doesn’t care. The mountaintop experience is gone; the darkness of the valley now surrounds us.

    Maybe that’s how you feel today. Maybe you’ve felt that way in the past week, month, year, or decade. Maybe you haven’t—but maybe you will. When we’re experiencing the lows of life and God feels distant, we need to ask two important questions:

    What is true? Is God actually distant?

    How should I feel at this moment? Is my anger, frustration, anxiety, or sorrow justified?

    Thankfully, the Bible provides answers to these questions. As we study Habakkuk together in November, God will reveal to us what is true—a solid bedrock upon which we can stand firm through life’s difficult moments. He will also reveal to us how we should feel, both when we’re experiencing those mountaintop moments, and when we feel stranded in the valley. Through God’s teaching in the book of Habakkuk—this little-studied and under-appreciated book—we can gain the perspective we need to deal with the moments when God feels distant.

    I hope you will invite people to join us as we gather together to learn from God’s Word. Everybody has had, is having, or will have moments when God feels distant. Let’s gain a greater appreciation for who God is and what he’s doing in the world as we study this book together.   • Music Musings, Vol. 65, No. 11, November 2025

    HAVE YOU CONSIDERED…how you may help with our Christmas production?

    There are many opportunities to get involved.  We need greeters, decorators, help with costumes and props and stage hands.  If you have special skills in the aeas of sound and lighting, please let Ronna know.  We will have a greeter sign-up list in the cafe.  There will also be postcards with dates and times for you to share with friends and family.

    Our production entitled NOEL ( Night of Everlasting Love) will feature the telling of the Nativity story with timeless Christmas classics.  These beloved traditional songs tell the amazing story of Jesus’ birth with a blend of tenderness and majesty.  The songs and carols paired with the pageantry and Scripture capture the awe and wonder inherent in the coming of a holy Savior into a sinful world to redeem mankind.

    Plan now to attend one of the presentations which will be performed on Dec. 6 and 7.  Each performance begins at 3:00 p.m.

  • Bible Study & Outreach, Vol. 65, No. 11, November 2025

    Are you ready to study the Bible with friends?  We have lots of available options.  On Sunday mornings at 9:15-10:15, we have groups available for children, students, adults and even multi-generational.  A First Impressions team member can help you find an appropriate group or you can ask Gloria to help you choose from all of the available options.

    There are also groups for all ages meeting on Wednesday night at 6.  In addition, we have a small group that meets on Tuesday morning at 10 and another on Thursday at 10.

    Finally, you can watch a Facebook live Bible study online at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning on the church Facebook page.  Yes, you can wear your PJ’s to this one and can watch it at any time, day or night.

    The Beauty of Loving Our Enemies

     Jesus’ command to “love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” (Matthew 5:44) is one of the most radical statements ever spoken. In a time when disagreement so easily turns into division, love for one’s enemies sounds almost impossible. Yet this is precisely the way of Christ.

    When Jesus was betrayed, mocked, and crucified, He responded not with vengeance but with mercy: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34). That love changed the world. The cross remains the most powerful picture of what divine love looks like—self-giving, undeserved, and transforming.

    Our world doesn’t need more clever arguments or louder voices; it needs Christians who reflect the grace they’ve received. To love our enemies is to declare that hate has no hold on us and that the kingdom of God runs on a different logic than the kingdoms of earth.

    In an age of division, this kind of love is not weakness—it’s beauty. It disarms hostility, bridges divides, and reveals Jesus more clearly than any slogan or debate ever could. To love as He loved is to live the most countercultural, Christlike life possible.

    Hello Church,

    By the time this message gets put into circulation we will have had our Trunk or Treat and will be gearing up for Christmas programming! I’m so excited to share that we will be doing a children’s nativity as part of the pre performances this year! If you’ve been at Fee Fee long enough you might remember that this was done years ago and is fondly remembered as being absolutely adorable. What a wonderful way to have our children fully involved in worshiping Jesus’ birth this season.

    I also really need to share that I am so encouraged by the servants’ hearts on display here at Fee Fee. There are many new volunteers who have offered their time to strengthen our children’s program and love on these amazing kids. We also have several current volunteers who stepped into new roles and are absolutely thriving. This past month we even had church members, not specifically with the children’s area, filling immediate kids’ area needs without hesitation or assumption that “someone else” would take care of it. This is what the body of Christ is all about!

    To conclude, we are headed in the right direction and it is incredible to be a part of this great team. We are always on the look out for more volunteers so please let me know if you feel a pull to work on our Fee Fee Kids’ team. Regardless of whether you’re a volunteer with our children’s ministry or not, please pray for our children’s programming: that we effectively teach biblical principles, form meaningful connections with children, their families, and each other, and most importantly, lead children to salvation and a personal relationship with Jesus.

  • Family Front, Vol. 65, No. 10, October 2025

    Hello Church,

    This past month has been a whirlwind getting fall programs into place! We had a great first day back at Awana, Royal Ambassadors, and Girls in Action on Wednesday, September 10th. This looks to be a fun year of Wednesday night programming!

    We are beginning to open our infant room again on Sunday mornings which is so exciting. However, to do so we will need the church’s participation and help. We need 2 more volunteers to serve during the Bible study hour as well as a couple of substitutes who can cover any absences. Please reach out to me if you feel the pull to work with our infants and toddlers! We will also have a wish list of items needed for our new infant room so be on the lookout for that!

    Later this fall we will again be hosting our annual Trunk or Treat which is such an amazing community outreach. Be on the lookout for information on that and begin thinking about how you’d love to decorate your trunk! This is such a fun and laid-back way to bring our community onto our campus and begin planting seeds of hope.

    As a closing, please pray for our children’s programming. We want to provide great biblical teachings, loving volunteers, and be a space in our community where kids love to be. Please pray that we are able to accomplish all of this and in so doing, lead children to salvation and a personal relationship with Jesus.
