  • Prime Time – Vol. 62, No. 14

I wish all of you could be experiencing the beauty of God’s amazing creation with me as my family and I travel through the southeast. I cannot believe He spoke such beauty into existence and lets us dwell in His glorious creation.

Don’t forget to sign up for the Science Center OmniMax trip on Thursday, August 4. We will watch a film on Ireland and then go to lunch at The Fountain on Locust. Who will try dill pickle soup with me? You can wash it down with some ice cream. The bus will leave church at 10:00 a.m.

Again, I want to remind you to take care of yourself during this worldwide record-breaking heat. Drink A LOT of water, stay in air conditioning whenever possible, and come to church on Sunday!!

    VBS/Sports Camp 2022 Recap

Another year of VBS/Sports Camp has come to an end! Thank you for praying for God to speak to the children and keep our leadership energized. Thank you for people that helped decorate, take down, serve where needed, act as ‘gofer’, and many other duties. It takes many hands for a successful week to happen! A BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO VOLUNTEERED! God’s promises are reliable. I asked you to think on this verse: “Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people!” (Psalm 66:5). God is good to see us through another big, fun week for the kids and families of our community.

    Family Swim Night

Cool off with your family on Friday night, August 5, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Bridgeton Pool.

    Free Market

Our annual Free Market will be the next morning, Saturday, August 6 at 9:00 a.m. on our parking lot. Bring your stuff to give away to the community. Tables will be provided by the church. Sign up now in the Connection Center! You must be present that day to give away items. No drop-offs will be accepted.

    School Supplies for Free Market

Once again we will be giving out new backpacks loaded with school supplies to the kids in our community, so we are taking donations to make this happen. NEW school supplies and backpacks can be donated in the appropriate box across from the Connection Center. We will be blessing the first 100 kids to come to Free Market with backpacks full of school supplies to start the year off fresh!

    Promotion Sunday

August 21 is Promotion Sunday for the new church year for pre-K, children, and youth. That morning parents of preschool and K-5 kids are invited to their children’s rooms for donuts. As we amp up for this new year, we are looking for a few good teachers to help our children learn more about the Bible and God’s plan for them.  If you are looking for the place to serve, talk to Kathy!

  • Prime Time – Vol. 62, No. 13

Wow, is it ever hot outside! I’m praying for all of you during this super hot weather. Please take care of yourself by staying inside in the air conditioning and keeping hydrated when you must be outside. It’s early July so I don’t expect the heat to go away anytime soon.

We already have a change to our first activity in August. We will go to the OmniMax theater on Thursday, August 4 to see the video entitled Ireland. The cost of the ticket is approximately $10.  If we have enough sign up to go, we might be able to get a slightly cheaper group rate. The bus will leave church at 10:00 a.m. and we will go to the 11:00 a.m. showing. Lunch will be at the Fountain on Locust.

Adult VBS will begin on Monday, August 22 and run through Thursday, August 25. We will be looking at the life and teachings of Jesus through a first century Middle Eastern lens, which will add much richness to our understanding of scripture. Our study will begin each day at 9:00 a.m. and end at 11:30 a.m. with a break for snacks and fellowship. Hope you can come!

Find a unique way to love God and love others through the month of July!
