We are so excited for another year of AWANA! Club will begin this year on Wednesday, September 14. We will meet from 6:00 – 7:30 pm to explore the Bible and have game time. Our first meeting this year will be part of the church’s Impact Week and we will do a special project that will reach out into our community. Parents are invited to participate. That night the AWANA project will be to have a baby shower and bring items for THRIVE, a family ministry organization for new moms. Plan to bring baby items for that baby shower. Other groups will be doing projects as well.
New this year we would like to have our parents more involved and are asking that each parent plan to stay with us until 6:15 to help with and listen to the Bible verses for one of the clubbers, not your child. They should have their books and there is a place for you to initial when they complete the verse(s) successfully. We have found that having a one-on-one touch really helps most of the children. This part will begin on September 21. If you are willing to help for the entire session, please see Kathy Scott for information. We could certainly use extra hands to assist with the children learning scripture.
