  • Bible Study Corner – Vol. 60, No. 04

    We are about to finish our Bible Study lessons on how we can achieve our mission statement. I hope you have enjoyed discussing the markers which help us build our lives on Jesus and pursue the good of our community for the glory of God.

    We will resume studying our regular Bible Study materials on Sunday, March 1 at 9:45 a.m.  If you are unsure how to get plugged in, stop by the Welcome Center and we would love to help you find the perfect place.

    Ministry Opportunities

    We are looking for groups to prepare and serve a meal, and fellowship with the residents of Loaves and Fishes on Tuesday, March 17, and Tuesday, April 21.  If your group is willing to help, please contact Gloria at gloria@feefeebc.org.

     

  • Community Connection – Vol. 60, No. 04

    Windermere Mission Trip

    If you missed our Windermere Mission Trip info meeting but are still interested in the trip, we’d still love to have you serve alongside us! The trip will be July 12-17, 2020.  We will be serving during mealtime for their campers – serving food, cleaning dishes, cleaning the tables, etc. All ages are welcome to go on the trip (children must be accompanied by a parent). There is no cost for the trip. If you have questions or if you want to be a part of the trip, contact Deb Alcorn (qmeryen@yahoo.com or 314-952-3061). The deadline to sign up for the trip is Sunday, April 5.

     Wheels for the World Trivia Night

    Join us on Saturday, March 14, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. for a night of trivia, prizes, a silent auction, and lots of fun and food! The cost is only $80 for a table of 8. Sign up for a table at the church or by contacting Brenda Moutray (314-322-0244). Proceeds benefit the Wheels for the World Mexico Mission trip.  Wheels for the World is a branch of Joni & Friends which strives to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the disabled around the world by providing wheelchairs and sharing the love of Jesus Christ. Childcare is available by reservation. We hope to see you there!

  • Music Musings – Vol. 60, No. 04

    Friendship Choir is Back

    We need YOU in our Friendship Choir! Ministering mainly to residents in nursing homes and retirement centers, our traveling choir seeks to share joy and encouragement through songs of inspiration wherever we go. Please consider joining us in this ministry. Rehearsal is on Monday evenings from 5:45 to 6:30 p.m.

    Palm Sunday Choir

    Our Sunday choir is once again doing an extended program of music during our 8:30 a.m. worship on Palm Sunday, April 5. The music in this mini-musical consists of powerful worship songs to celebrate the journey of Christ. We are practicing this music on Monday evenings from 6:30-7:00 p.m.  Please join us in this special presentation that leads up to culmination of Resurrection Sunday.

    The Daily Song of the Levitical Choir

    Recently I have become intrigued by the intense training, duties, and ministry of the Levitical musicians. It may be of interest to many of you to know about the daily song of the Levitical Choir. Although the Levites sang upon many occasions in the Holy Temple, one of their most important and basic musical tasks was the daily song. Each day the Levite choir stood on the platform and sang a special song for that particular day. All these songs with their instrumental arrangements were performed while the morning and evening wine libations were poured out on the altar by the officiating priests. Each day during the wine libation, the overseer of the choir stood above one of the horns of the altar and signaled to the Levites with a kerchief in his hand to begin their song. At three points in their song, they would pause, when the priests would sound the silver trumpets and all the people in the court would lay prostrate before the Presence of God. On each day of the week, the songs, a different Psalm daily, represented the events of the six days of creation. Obviously, the choir was a busy one – singing daily!

    Parents’ Boot Camp: Keeping Kids Safe Online

    This important presentation will meet during the Bible Study hour on Sunday, March 1, in the Dining Room. Loran Maloney will be showing parents how to take the lead in guiding their children and teens in what is appropriate when using electronic devices.

    Week of Prayer for North American Missions

    …will be March 29 through April 5.  Our church goal this year is $12,500. Pray about the amount you can set aside as a family to support our North American missionaries.

    Summer Fun Week

    …is coming and will be here before we know it! Vacation Bible School and Sports Crusaders Basketball Camp will be June 22-26. “Wilderness Escape” is the theme for our VBS, and will be from 9:00 a.m. to noon; Basketball Camp will be from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. If you would like to serve, now is the time to sign up!  See Kathy Scott about how you can get connected, kathy@feefeebc.org.

    Children’s Ministry Opportunities

    We are still in need of a few people to fill some teaching spots in our children’s ministry:  assistant teacher for Livewires (Sunday), assistant teacher for Kindergarten Bible study (Sunday), AWANA listeners on Wednesdays; and Worship Care during 11:00 a.m. Sunday worship.  Talk to Kathy Scott if you want to help with any of these ministries.     Deuteronomy 6:4-7 – The Lord is our God. The Lord is the one and only God. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Love him with all your strength. The commandments I give you today must be in your hearts. Make sure your children learn them. Talk about them when you are at home. Talk about them when you walk along the road. Speak about them when you go to bed. And speak about them when you get up.

    Grief Support Group

    A new grief support group will be led by Nina Palumbo, a licensed Clinical Social Worker who is certified in Spiritual Christian Counseling. Classes begin Wednesday, March 4 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. This group is open not just to Fee Fee, but to those in our community who are needing support and direction after the loss of a loved one.      2019 Singing Tree DVDs

    Relive the wonder and excitement of our 2019 Singing Tree by purchasing a DVD for $1.00 in the Media Center.  In other Media Center news: Are you getting bored with the long winter days? Strengthen your brain muscle with a new/gently used puzzle from our Puzzle Exchange. Choose from a nice selection, and bring any puzzles that you are finished with to add to our offerings. Media Center hours are Sundays 8:00-8:30 a.m., 9:30-9:45 a.m., and 10:45-11:00 a.m.; Wednesdays 4:00-4:45 p.m. and 5:45-6:15 p.m.

    Qualifications/Expectations of Deacons
    1. Choose persons who meet the biblical qualifications set forth primarily in Acts 6:1-7 and I Timothy 3:8-13.
      • A man of honest (good) report (Acts 6:3).
      • Full of the Holy Spirit (Acts 6:3).
      • Full of wisdom (Acts 6:3).
      • Full of faith (Acts 6:5).
      • Grave (I Timothy 3:8); reverence for spiritual matters.
      • Not double-tongued (I Timothy 3:8).
      • Not given to much wine (I Timothy 3:8).
      • Not greedy of filthy lucre (I Timothy 3:8).
      • A holder of the faith (I Timothy 3:9).
      • Tested and proved (I Timothy 3:10).
      • Blameless (I Timothy 3:10).
      • Christian family life (I Timothy 3:11-12).
        • Husband of one wife (I Timothy 3:11-12).
        • Ruling their children and their own houses well (I Timothy 3:12).
      • Bold in the faith (I Timothy 3:13).
    1. Choose persons who can serve well.

  • Prime Time – Vol. 60, No. 04

    It’s been really nice to see the sun a little more lately. As we move into spring, we have some fun excursions planned.

    That said, we have a fun afternoon planned  here at the church on Thursday, March 12. At 11:30 a.m., we will begin with chili, chicken soup, and brownies. After we eat, we will spend a couple of hours playing games of all types. Bring your favorite game and be willing to try something new. The cost for lunch and snacks is $6. Bring some friends!

    Our day trip to Fulton and the Churchill museum will be on Thursday, March 26. We will have lunch at Bek’s followed by a guided tour of the museum. The bus will leave at 9:30 a.m. and the cost is $9 for the tour and $5 for transportation.

    • April 9 – Butterfly House/Carousel and lunch at the Old Spaghetti Factory
    • April 23-24 – Overnight trip to Casey, IL for a leisurely trip to see BIG STUFF.
    • May 16 – Legacy Night (aka Senior Adult banquet)

    • June 9 – Salad lunch and the movie Harriet.
    • July 6-9 – Adult VBS

    Windermere Mission Trip Info Meeting

    Our church is going to serve at Windermere Baptist Conference Center again this year. Each year, Windermere hosts hundreds of people on their campus to allow them the opportunity to hear the Gospel. They need a lot of help to make this happen. We will be taking a team the week of July 12-17, 2020 to faithfully serve in this endeavor. This is a trip for any age person. If you are interested in this trip or have questions you can come to an informational meeting on Sunday, February 23, at noon in the Coffee Café. We hope you will pray for this trip and pray about being a part of it.

    Tom and Lela Warner Short Term Missions Offering

    On Sunday, February 23, we will have a special offering for our Tom and Lela Warner Short Term Missions Fund. In both morning worship services we will take a special collection for this fund which supports our members going on mission trips each year.  Over the years these funds have been used to send our people all over the country and world to share the Gospel message. This year the fund will be helping our members share God’s love in North Carolina, Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Missouri. If you feel led to give towards this fund just write on your envelope or on the memo line of your check “Short Term Missions.” Thank you for your continued support of missions both locally and internationally!

    Trophy Giveaway

    The History and Athletic Committees invite you to claim any of the past sports trophies that you might have participated in or just have a desire to cherish some Fee Fee history in your own home. These trophies have been retired from our collection as we no longer have storage space to accommodate them. If you want to be a part of the rehoming process, contact Kathy Scott (kathy@feefeebc.org) or Vance Stewart (vance@feefeebc.org) or come by the church office to choose any for your personal collection.

  • Prime Time – Vol. 60, No. 03

    Don’t forget to be on the bus by 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 13. The Aquarium is $25.00 per person. Lunch will be at Zia’s afterwards.

    On Tuesday, February 25, we will head to the Missouri History Museum, following with lunch at Joey B’s. The bus will leave the church at 10:00 a.m. The St. Louis Blues exhibit entitled “History Made,” unfortunately ended January, therefore we will see the exhibit the “Mighty Mississippi.” The history museum is free.

    March will feature two events – a chili and game day on Thursday, March 12; and a trip to Fulton to the Winston Churchill Museum on Thursday, March 26. Mark your calendars and sign up by the Media Center.

    Remember to invite some friends to our events, including those who already attend Fee Fee. Sometimes all it takes is a personal invitation.
