    Wednesday Night Activities for kids begin September 11 at 6pm. We are doing something new! Third through 5th graders will now be RA (Royal Ambassadors for boys) or GA (Girls in Action for girls). We will still be learning Bible verses, studying God’s word, playing games, the focus being on missionaries and what God is doing around the world.  We will meet from 6:00-7:30pm each Wed. night of the school year. I am so thankful for the men and women who have stepped forward to lead these classes.

    Kindergarten through 2nd graders will continue in Awana Sparks just as before.

    Thanks for sending your kids to this weekday disciple group. We love seeing our kids grow in their faith and have fun with their friends.

    I’m A Christian Now class will begin October 6. This is for kids who have made a profession of faith in Jesus recently (and their parents). We discover what a Christian is, what the Lord’s Supper and Baptism is and is not, the Church, and how to grow as a Christian. If you know of a child who has not had this class and has received Christ already, I would love to talk with them and include their family in this class.

    I’m putting out another plea for help on Sunday mornings during KidsZone (children’s church) and preschool worship care. Would you consider volunteering for 1 Sunday / month so we can continue these ministries. We could especially use men for KidsZone. Thank you for praying, Church, about how you can help.

    Christmas Choir Rehearsals

    As you know we are nearing the time to start our weekly Christmas choir rehearsals.  Our first rehearsal will be the afternoon of September 15 from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.  At our first rehearsal you will be assigned your Christmas music score and we will listen and read through the music.

    We are hoping for many singers to join us.  As always singers do not need to be regular members of our choir or even members of Fee Fee church.  We welcome singers of ALL ages.

    In planning for our Christmas production we need many volunteers.  Among these we need greeters, ushers, actors, managers of children, sound and light technicians as well as decorators and costumers.

    Additionally if you are unable to fulfill any volunteer roles we would gladly accept monetary donations.  The cost of this production includes music products such as scores, orchestrations and part specific rehearsal recordings. There are costs to hire musicians, a choreographer and a transcriber.  So many expenses do not meet the eye.  You may contribute with a check to Fee Fee designated for Christmas production.

    The music that has been selected centers on the JOY of the season which gives us something wonderful to celebrate!

  • Prime Time, Vol. 64, No.9, September 2024

    Wow.  Summer is almost over.  Kids are back in school.  But the seniors still get to have adventures.  Fall is a time for outdoor fun and our next four activities involve some time outside.

    On Friday, September 13, we will head up the River road to Pere Marquette for a fabulous fried chicken family style lunch at 10 am.  Everyone will get 2 pieces of chicken, and family style mashed potatoes, gravy, cole slaw and corn.  Your lunch price will include a drink of tea or coffee and dessert.  The price will include tax and tip and should be around $20.

    After lunch, you can go for a walk, sit outside and play games or cards, or just sit and watch the river roll by.  Sign-up in the connection center.

    On Thursday, September 26, we will go to Rainbow ranch at 10 am.  Rainbow Ranch is a 170 year old farm in Nashville, IL.  They have llama, alpacas, donkeys, sheep, goats, deer, potbelly pigs, peacocks, ducks, horses, a zebra, a zedonk and even camels and kangaroos.  You know you want to pet them!  I have contacted them and we will either have lunch first or the tour first.  If you’re an animal lover, this trip is for you.  The cost of the farm is $15/person plus your lunch.

  • Chi Alpha, Vol. 64, No. 9, September 2024

    Hey Church!

    In August we wrapped up our Chi Alpha Summers events with some awesome Mini Golf. The summer was a blast between our mission trips to Alaska and Ohio and Wednesday night activities. It was great time to fellowship and to grow more together as a group.

    This fall will bring more events! As well as new events, we will be starting a new series on Creation and the book of Philippians.

    We are still looking for more leaders! Please prayerfully consider discipling our youth. It is a challenge to facilitate large events and activities without adequate  support. We would love to have you. Please see me if interested.

    THANK YOU

    By the time you read this VBS and Sports Camp will be over. Thank you Church, for your support of this event that brings children to know Jesus better or to start a relationship with Him. Thank you to our people that served during the event. Forty-nine of our adults and youth, including a few folks from outside our church, joined us in our missions to reach our community. Thanks everyone for your prayers.

    Promotion Sunday for our preschoolers, children and youth is August 4. Please be in prayer as we enlist new teachers and serve our families through our Sunday School hour. We will provide donuts for families at 9:15 as they bring their children to their classes and meet the teachers.

Our 4-5th grade kids have really enjoyed this so we are incorporating 3rd grade into that as well. Our kids have been unsuccessful in committing to the requirements of Truth in Training in the Awana club. We want to see them succeed. We will still be learning Bible verses, studying God’s word, playing games but adding the feature of KA to include missions emphasis—seeing what God is doing around the world. Kindergarten through 2nd graders will continue in Awana Sparks just as before.

  • A Word From Senior Pastor, Britton Carter, Vol. 64, No. 8, August 2024

    Watching God Work

    Philip sat in the scorching desert heat just south of Jerusalem, waiting to see why God led him there. An angel of the Lord told him to follow the road south, and he obliged. But now that the blazing sun bore down upon his head and nobody appeared on the roadside, he was beginning to wonder why the Lord sent him out to that dusty highway.

    Just then, Philip noticed a cloud of dust growing in the distance. Soon, an Ethiopian eunuch traveling home in a royal chariot emerged in the sweltering heat. As Philp approached the chariot, he noticed that the eunuch was reading from the book of Isaiah. Philip used the opportunity to share the gospel with the eunuch, who placed his faith in Jesus and was baptized that day. Afterward, the eunuch returned to Ethiopia, and God moved Philip to another town.

    On the surface, God’s plan made little sense to Philip. God didn’t have Philip preach a sermon on the busiest street corner in Jerusalem; he had Philip travel to a desert road. He didn’t have Philip knock on doors and seek out the lost; he simply put Philip in the path of a lost man. If Philip was going to put together a list of things he could do to grow the early church, standing on a dusty roadside in the middle of the desert surely wouldn’t be on that list.

    Here’s the incredible truth: God is perfectly willing to work through us to accomplish his will of magnifying Christ, but he doesn’t need us to do all the planning and the heavy lifting. He just needs us to surrender to him and allow him to guide us.

    Last week, I went on a mission trip to Armenia, Colombia. Throughout the week, I saw God do incredible things—working in the hearts and minds of the people we spoke with before we ever met them, preparing the soil for the presentation of the gospel. Then I arrived home and encountered the same thing in our church. I have seen God moving at Fee Fee in ways that can only be described as answers to prayer. As a church, we are seeing people coming to know Christ, getting baptized (soon), joining in membership, stepping up to serve, and responding in a variety of other ways to God’s Spirit—and there isn’t one person in the church who can claim credit for the wonderful things that are happening.

    God is at work. Let’s continue surrendering to him.

    Fee Fee is looking for a Church Drummer!

    We are looking for someone who can play Contemporary and Traditional worship music. Rehearsals are on Mondays at 6pm for 30 mins and you will play on Sundays for worship service at 10:30 am.     Help Needed for Our Ministry with “Loaves and Fishes”

     Fee Fee Baptist Church provides meals for the Loaves and Fishes emergency shelter on the third Tuesday of each month. We need Bible Study classes, T-groups, families or others to volunteer to provide these meals. There are sign-up sheets in the Connection Center where you can specify which month you or your group will provide the meal (for about 30 people). Please contact Gloria Fox for more information.

    Bus Drivers Needed

    If you would be interested in driving a church bus for Sunday morning worship or Prime Time events, please contact Vance in the church office.

    Redemption Ranch and IMPACT week

     While our goal is to always be serving in our community, we have set a week aside in September for special emphasis that we call Impact Week.  The week kicks off on Sunday, September 8 with a service, lunch and fun for all at Redemption Ranch.  You will be hearing more about this in our weekly announcements.

    The rest of the week is spent doing things to impact our community.  This year’s projects may include a free car wash, topping off  windshield washer fluid, pickleball and possibly volleyball tournaments with community teams, serving at Loaves and Fishes food pantry and numerous other activities.  If you have any suggestions for service projects, please contact Gloria.

    New Member Sunday August 25th

    We are gearing up to make August 25th a special day for our church. With most summer travels completed and school starting back, 8/25 provides us with a perfect opportunity to invite friends and neighbors to hear the gospel and experience Christian community at Fee Fee Baptist Church. While we would love for you to invite people every week, we will make a special push to invite people on August 25th. We will also have a new member class with lunch after the service for anybody interested in learning more about membership at Fee Fee.

    Calling all Athletes

    Did you know Fee Fee offers weekly activities that are open to all members? We play Volleyball Sunday evening at 7. Pickleball takes place Tuesday night at 6 and Wednesday morning at 10. Or, come hoop it up with Men’s Basketball Wednesday night at 8. Come have some fun and invite a friend.

  • Chi Alpha, Vol. 64, No. 8, August 2024

    Chi Alpha had a great month of July. We took students to MFUGE, a mission trip summer camp. Our students stayed in the dorms at Cedarville University. There we attended worship services and participated in Bible studies. During the day we were out doing missions projects. They ranged from serving at a women’s shelter and food bank , to sitting and talking with people at a nursing home. We were blessed with our time there and grew in our walks.

    We also served at VBS! Majority of our students led in some capacity during our VBS. It was amazing to see them step up and be active parts of our church body.

    The school year is approaching rapidly. Be in prayer for our students as they return to there schools. Pray for safety, encouragement, academic success, and most importantly for a drive to be lights in their classmates lives.

    Fee Fee Choir

    It’s OK to sing in our choir if you are under the age of 30.  The role of our choir is going through some changes.  Yes, we will sing some stand alone anthems, but our main focus will be to lead out in congregational music as we learn new literature to bring to the worship table. To sing in our choir there has never been an audition process.  All are welcome to participate.  Rehearsals are more important than ever.  We rehearse in the choir room on Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m.  Rehearsals run for about one hour. Multigenerational participation is preferred.  Please consider using your voice in leadership.  You were gifted by God to lead in praise.

    Upcoming Opportunities

    Impact Week:

    We will again have a Friendship choir to sing for residents in assisted living and nursing facilities during Impact Week in September. We will also do hymn caroling for some of our homebound members. Bringing joy to others always brings joy to you.

    Christmas Choir:

    Plans are underway to prepare for our Christmas choir.  Projected dates for this year are December 20 (7:00 p.m.), Dec. 21 (3:00 p.m.), and December 22 (3:00 p.m.)

    Singers have regularly scheduled rehearsals and are given rehearsal recording for their part. Please consider being a part of this event.  Invite friends to participate with us.  Singers do not have to be members of Fee Fee.  They just need to desire sharing the miracle of the Christmas story and the message of the cross.
