    It’s Winter!

I hope you are keeping safe and warm in this winter weather! Spend some good family time together and thank God for his blessing of life and love during this season.

    New Year!

We are beginning a new year—can you believe we are starting 2023?! Do you ever make New Year’s resolutions? I used to in the past then never kept them, so I don’t make resolutions. I do ask the Father always to help me be the person He desires and has made me to be. This is a daily prayer. Make it a priority to see what God would have you do and live by His plan rather than your own. This is a verse I have hanging in my office that is a good reminder:

“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me; Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me,” (Psalm 51:10-12).

This is my prayer for the new year. What is yours?

What to look for in January

Regular Wednesday nights resume January 4 at 6:00 p.m. That first AWANA of the new year will be “bring a friend night” and store, so get ready!

    Family Nerf Games

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace,” (Numbers 6:24-26).

It is this most wonderful time of the year! But it can be a stressful and busiest time of the year. Take time to reflect on God’s great love for us and celebrate that gift – JESUS!

    International Mission Study Recap

Our teachers did a great job teaching our kids the International Missions Study about Philippines and what God is doing there. We look forward to reaching our $30,000.00 goal for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Encourage your kids to do extra chores to earn money to give. It is important to help them understand that part of worship is giving back God. Consider setting a family goal.

    Parent’s Night Out Recap

Thanks to all who helped with our Parent’s Night Out on Friday, December 9.  It was a fun night! Thank you to those that donated items for the store in which our kids could shop. It was a highlight of the evening for the kids to be able to shop for their families.

    2022 Christmas Presentation

Our children will be featured at the Christmas presentation on December 16-18. They have done a wonderful job narrating and acting out the Christmas story. Thank you, Justin Flack, for editing the video. Don’t miss this wonderful part of the Christmas presentation Hope is Born, Emmanuel.”

    Serving Opportunities

Part of being a Christian is serving. Colossians 3:23-24 says, “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance: for you serve the Lord Christ.” We have needs here for people to plug in and use their gifts to serve. Some of those are in our preschool and children’s areas. Yes, we have a lot of wonderful people that already serve in this area, but it takes many to serve our children and families. Please talk to Kathy if you believe God can use you to serve in our children’s ministry. See Andrew if you would like to serve in other areas. Choose in this new year to actively serve the living God who gave so much for you!
