Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you all plan to have a wonderful time celebrating the holidays this year, but please remember to stay safe and be wise this season! I want you all to return back to us happy and healthy. Just a reminder, we are still having Sunday and Wednesday Bible Studies on Zoom over the holiday season. There are a couple days that we have off, so parents please check your schedules that were emailed to you after Thanksgiving. Stay tuned, because we will be announcing our return to in-person activities soon and we want you to be there for all of them! So until then, stay safe, finish your semesters strong, and have a very Merry Christmas!

Chi Alpha News – Vol. 60, No. 23
Since it is after Thanksgiving, I can officially say…MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!! Even though I personally have been celebrating all November long, I know there are some traditionalists out there that don’t agree with me (don’t worry, I’ll pray for your souls). Anyway, I hope that even though we are nearing the end of a very difficult year, you are all still looking forward to the holidays. While there have been a lot of hardships we have had to endure over the last year, we are closing in on a NEW YEAR with NEW POSSIBILITIES! I am excited looking forward to next year and some events we have planned. I can’t wait to be able to have a blast with you all again soon! But until then, let’s keep pushing forward. We are still Zooming on Sundays and Wednesdays, just make sure to check your calendar so you know what weeks we are on and off. Miss you all, and I can’t wait to be up in the Rafters with you again soon!

Upcoming Schedule and Changes
Since families will be traveling during the holidays, we want to keep our students and church safe moving forward. We will only be holding in-person Sunday Morning Bible Study and Wednesday Night Small Groups up until the Thanksgiving holiday for the rest of 2020. During the holidays, we will continue to have Bible Study on Sundays and Wednesdays, but we will do that over Zoom. Make sure your student attends because we have some great things to talk about! I am looking forward to celebrating the holidays together as a group, whether we are together or away!
Minneapolis Mission Trip Sign Ups
If your student has not already turned in their forms and deposit for next summer’s mission trip, we need those ASAP! Our deadline to turn in numbers to Praying Pelican is coming up, so don’t miss out on an amazing opportunity to serve in the Twin Cities next summer!

On Friday, October 23 we will be having a night to celebrate where we are moving together as a Youth department. Come join us – students, families, volunteers, leaders – to check out our newly renovated youth lounge! During this time, we will also discuss our new Mission Statement for the youth, which is “Real Community, Real Purpose, Real God.” I am so excited about this new chapter for our students and can’t wait for each of you to come along on the journey with us! Following our brief time of discussion, we will head out to the courtyard for a fun time of fellowship and s’mores! We will have prepacked s’mores kits and plenty of firepits to go around! After School Study Program
We are still continuing our After School Study Program for students every Tuesday night from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Make sure your student takes advantage of this opportunity to study in community!
Back to the Rafters
Starting Sunday, September 27, we will be back upstairs in the Rafters! We have worked so hard this summer to make this a new and fresh space for our youth and now we get to enjoy it together! On Sundays we will be offering a hybrid format for Bible Study where students can come in person or still join on Zoom. We will be fully in person on Wednesday nights starting September 30 as well. Come join us and check out the new space! The church family is welcome at any time to come on up and check out all our hard work!

After School Study Program
Starting Tuesday, September 8, we will be offering an opportunity for all of our Chi Alpha students to come up to the church and get some serious studying done. With school being moved to an online format for the majority of our students, it is so important to keep some social interactions available for them. We will have a few leaders and volunteers at the church to offer students some extra help with schoolwork and give encouragement to those who may need it. We will be meeting every Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the gym and students can come and go as they please. Make sure they take advantage of this awesome opportunity to study in a different setting, but also continue to build great community together!

New and Exciting Changes!
This summer, our Chi Alpha leaders and students have been working very hard on a new project to begin renovations in The Rafters! Our projects have varied from painting rooms and hallways, building a new stage, getting rid of unused closets, putting in new floors, and finding new and exciting ways that we can utilize our space on the third floor. I want to specifically thank Mike Bayles, Vance Stewart, our intern Sarah Baker, along with all our adult and student volunteers who have gone on this crazy journey with me this summer. We still have quite a way to go to finish up, but we are already seeing some exciting progress. I am so excited to see what God will do with this ministry in this new and revitalized space. Please pray with me this summer as we continue to work, but pray that our student ministry will continue to grow and students’ lives will be changed because of these face lifts we are doing.
Chi Alpha Summers
We are currently meeting at Vago Park on Wednesday nights from 6:00-7:00 p.m. for Chi Alpha Summers! Come join us for a night of fun and fellowship! We look forward to seeing you all soon!

See You All Soon!
We are so excited to announce that we are starting our regathering plans as a youth group! This last Wednesday, July 8, was our first week of Chi Alpha Summers where we met at Vago Park for a night of relaxation and fun. I know our students are just as excited as I am to be back together as a group. We will be meeting at Vago for the time being to respect social distancing guidelines. We feel this is our best chance at meeting together and still keeping our kids and leaders safe. We will continue to meet every Wednesday night from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the back of the park near the three pavilions for the time being. We are taking this one week at a time as we continue to monitor the state of COVID and work closely with the CDC and state guidelines. If things seem to take a turn in a negative direction, we will postpone these plans for the safety of all our students and volunteers. Please check our social media platforms to get all the latest news!
