    Worship Song

     I Know a Name is a  praise song we have recently introduced to our congregation.  The song lists attributes of Jesus.

    Jesus is:

    Ruler of the world, Master over death, Savior, Worthy of worship, Glorified, I AM and Powerful

    The entire song lines up with scripture.  It is a song easily understood by unbelievers.  It is clearly about Jesus and how awesome He is to Christians. “Dead things come alive” is a repeated motif in the song which refers to hopelessness, spiritual death and the need for restoration and renewal.  The phrase is used to convey that no situation is too far gone for divine intervention.

    If you would like to come to church at Fee Fee and live in the Bridgeton or St. Ann area, get on our bus rider list. Just call the church office in advance to sign up for a ride. Our transportation coordinator will contact you to schedule a pick up time.

  • Prime Time, Vol. 66, No. 1, January 2026

    Happy New Year! I am loving hanging out with the Senior Adults and being their director. What a fun bunch! If you haven’t been part of this fellowship, please come with us. You will find signup sheets with info on our events in the coffee café.

    December 11 We had the opportunity to eat at Das Bevo and to see Christmas lights. Great food and great fellowship!

     

    Thursday, Jan. 15 we will visit the World Chess Hall of Fame and eat lunch at the Kingside Diner. I hope you will come! You can even take a chess lesson! Learning, fun AND food! What could be better? We plan to leave church at 10am.

     

    In February/March we will do projects for MO Baptist Children’s Home and St. Andrew’s senior center. More details on that in the February Forerunner.

     

    If you haven’t participated in any event with this group, it’s time for you to check this out; and, of course, bring a friend. We always want to be in the business of inviting friends to be part of this great fellowship at Fee Fee Baptist Church!

     

    Watch for more details on all of these events. You will find information and signup sheets in the café so we know how many to plan on. I look forward to serving with you!

  • Music Musings, Vol. 65, No. 12, December 2025

    Save The Dates

    December 6 and 7 are the dates for our Christmas choir presentation.  Both performances begin at 3:00 p.m.  There are invitation cards in the Connect Center, foyer, and in the choir room.  Please feel free to hand them out to your friends and family.  The message and the music will be a blessing to all.

    What Child is This?

    One of the most beautiful songs from our music presentation is the carol, “What Child is This?”

    William Chatterson Dix, is the writer of this carol.  As a young man, William moved to Glasgow Scotland, where he pursued a career managing a marine insurance company.  However, his true passion was poetry.  Dix became very sick and was in bed for a long time recovering.  He had plenty of time to pray and read the Word of God.  From this experience his life was truly changed for the better.  He began to write hymns.  Three of these we may be familiar with today:  “As With Gladness, Men of Old,” “Alleluia, Sing to Jesus,” and “What Child is This?”

    “What Child is This?” was set to the ever-popular “Greensleeves.” written a full century before Dix’s hymn.

    What child IS this?  This is Jesus, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Who loved us so much that HE gave that we might have life eternal.  We look back at the manger, but ahead to the PROMISE!

     

  • Prime Time, Vol. 65, No. 7, July 2025

    We are hitting 90 degrees for the first time this summer today.  I’m not a big fan of heat so we are going to do a couple of in-house activities this summer.  The first one is Wednesday, July 9 .  Join us for lunch at 11:00.  We will be having a potato bar and dessert.  Yum!  When we finish lunch, we will watch the Sight and Sound production of David.  Sounds like a great day to me.

    Then on Monday, July 23rd, we will journey to Fitz’s root beer for a tour followed by lunch there. The bus will leave church at 10 am.

    Also, we now have a date locked in with St. Andrew’s for our quarterly service project.  On September 24 at 10 a.m., we will go across the street to paint nails for the residents.  We are going to need lots of colors for them to choose from so pick up some inexpensive bottles of polish next time you are in that area of a store,

     

  • Family Front, Vol. 65, No. 3, March 2025

    VBS is on the calendar – July 14-18, 2025, 9am, -12 noon. Watch for online registration opening next month. The theme this year is True North, Trusting Jesus in a Wild World. If you would like to volunteer, we will give you all the tools to help you do this. And it’s a fun week! See me with questions or to say: “I’m in”!

    Beginning March16 we will be offering a class for children that have asking about baptism. If the child has accepted Christ and wants to know ‘what’s next’, this is the class for them. This class will be 4 consecutive Sundays during the Bible study hour from 9:15-10:15am. We also ask that a parent or parents attend with the child. Let me know if your child needs this class.

    Wed. night KidsZone is going well. Your younger kids are getting basics in the Bible and fun with friends in Awana and older kids are getting exposure to missions around the world through GA and RA. We have some spectacular leaders that are faithful to serve each week on Wednesdays and Sundays. Sundays also bring Bible study and Children’s worship or KidsZone that furthers them in their walk with the Lord. We could still use a few volunteers to help with worship care with elementary and preschool kids.  Please see me if you want to be part of helping kids further their relationship with Jesus. There will be no activities Wednesday, March19, due to Spring Break.

    Psalm 145:8 The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and great in faithful love.

     

  • Prime Time, Vol. 65, No.1, January 2025

    2025!  Doesn’t seem that long ago when we were concerned about what would happen when the year 2000 came.  Would our computers continue to work?  Would our worldwide infrastructure collapse.  Looking back, that is almost laughable.  So, let’s just trust God and welcome 2025.

    We have some fun things planned for the first quarter.  Our first event is an inhouse movie of Wednesday, January 8.  If it is available, we will watch The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.  If not, I will find a great substitute.  Lunch will include soup, sandwiches and dessert and will cost $7.  Lunch will begin at 11:30.

    On Wednesday, January 29, we will leave for the Butterfly House at 10 am.  If it is available, you might be able to take a whirl on the carousel.  After this we will head to the Old Spaghetti Factory in Chesterfield for lunch. The cost of admission is $12.75.

    Here is a list of the rest of the activities for the quarter:

    Monday, February 10 at 11 am.  Sandwiches for lunch and making valentines for shut-ins and residents of St. Andrews Assisted Living.

    Monday, February 24 at 10am.  African American History Trolley Tour by Bellefontaine Cemetery.  Lunch TBA.

    Thursday, March 13 at 10 am.  Tour of the Campbell House.  $10/person and lunch at Zia’s.

    Sounds as if our year will be off to a great start.  Don’t forget to sign up in the Connection Center.

     

  • Bible Study Corner, Vol. 64, No. 10, October 2024

    Bible Study Corner

    Our Bible Study groups meet each Sunday at 9:15 a.m.  Hope you have joined one.  If you don’t know where to go, Gloria can help you find a good fit.  Each group meets for an hour before the worship service. Groups are studying Lifeway literature, using Right Now Media and discussion, or just working there way through the Bible.  There is a place for everyone.

    Speaking of a place for everyone, we also have all age groups meeting Wednesday nights at 6 pm – 7:30. Kids can attend Awanas, GA’s and RA’s (depending on their age), youth meet together in the Rafters, pastor is leading a Bible Study starting in Genesis, and the women are studying Ephesians.  You can jump into any of these groups at any time!

  • Prime Time, Vol. 64, No.10, October 2024

    Bible Reading Plan

    I know that many of you have been faithful reading through the entire Bible with me over the last 4 years starting in January 2021 and ending the last day of December of 2024.  I think it is important to read Scripture together as a church.  It is a great way to share and learn with others in the church about what God is showing us through Scripture that makes us see how good He is and how much he loves us.

    As we wind down this plan, I have been led to develop a plan for 2025 that will take us 1 chapter (or portion of a chapter) each day chronologically through the New Testament.  I look forward to talking with you about how the 4 Gospels fit together in time order.  I also look forward to reading the letters to the churches as they intersect with events  in Acts.  Ask God to start preparing your hearts for this new method of reading Scripture.  Just maybe, like the disciples returning to Emmaus, Jesus will explain “what was said in all the Scriptures concerning Himself.”  Luke 24:27b. Wouldn’t that be awesome?

    Look for your new bookmark in December!

    Prime Time

    ATTENTION:  DATE AND LOCATION CHANGE. On Monday, October 14 at 10 a.m., we were scheduled to board the bus for Grant’s farm.  BUT THAT CAN’T HAPPEN. GRANT’S FARM IS OPEN TO TOURS ONLY ON THAT DAY.  Consequently, we will go to the Missouri Civil War Museum at Jefferson Barracks on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 10. The cost is $9 and lunch will be announced on the sign up sheet.

    On Monday, October 28, we will go to the Summit Fall Market in Kirkwood at 10 a.m.  At the market shed, you will find great produce, local foods, candy and treats and a great selection of seasonal décor.  There will also be pumpkins, mums and more. The bus will leave at 10 a.m. and lunch will be at Billy G’s.

    Look for details in the next forerunner for our trip to the Omnimax and Zia’s in November and a night time trip to Missouri Botanical Garden for Garden Glow in  December.
