  • Senior Adults, Vol. 66, No. 7, July 2026

    I’m so glad to be serving with our senior adult group. If you are 55+ (or feel 55+) come along and join us for our activities. If you are already part of this great fellowship, bring a friend to our activities.

    Here are events for July:

    On July 1st, the bus will leave at 4pm for dinner at Rigazzi’s on the Hill then to  concert at Mo. Botanical Gardens. You will need to bring a lawn chair or blanket, bug spray and a drink if you want. The band is the US Air Force Band of Mid-America. Concert is from 7-9pm and it’s free. Check the café for sign up list and other info.

    July 29 we will meet at the church at 10am to pack school supplies into backpacks for our school supply/backpack giveaway on August 1. After we finish packing the backpacks on the 29th, we will go to lunch. I hope you will be part of the Free garage sale on our parking lot on August 1. It’s a great way to meet our community.

    I always look forward to VBS for our seniors. This year a friend of mine, Ron Zamkus, will lead a study of 1 John, ‘Authentic Fruitful Faith,’ August 10-13 from 9:30am -12 each day. It will be a great week to dive deep into God’s Word.

    On Wed. August 26 we plan to go to Casey IL to see all of the ‘Big Stuff’ around  town and eat lunch there. Watch for further news on this event.

    Psalm 119:15-16 I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways. I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your Word.

    Delighting in God

    I love my wife. Even before we started dating, I realized I really enjoyed spending time with her. After our first few dates, I found myself on the car ride home looking forward to seeing her again. My heart overflowed with excitement and eager anticipation as we scheduled our next chance to be together. Thankfully, seven years later, I still have the privilege of spending time with her—and my love for her and my excitement to be around her has only grown.

    In other words, I delight in my relationship with my wife. I don’t always approach her with an agenda—a list of things I’d like to accomplish with our time together; I just enjoy being around her. The privilege of being her husband is one of the greatest joys of my life.

    Now, you might be wondering if I’m trying to work my way out of the doghouse with the last two paragraphs. You’re probably saying to yourself, “That was really sappy; I wonder what he did wrong.”

    Nothing, actually. I’m trying to make a point: God wants a similar relationship with you. He wants you to enjoy your walk with him. He wants you to delight in him.

    Does the above description match the way you think about God? Or does your “relationship” with him look more like a contractual arrangement? You fulfill your obligations (go to church, give generously, read your Bible, pray before meals), and God fulfills his (letting you into heaven when you die).

    Trust me—your relationship with God can be so much sweeter. What would it look like if we as a church delighted in being the people of God? What if we freely honored him with everything we said and did simply because we think he’s worth it? What if we truly believed the best plan for our lives is completely surrendering to God? What if we studied our Bibles because we enjoy thinking about God and look forward to knowing him better? What if we prayed—I mean, really, truly, earnestly sought the Lord through prayer?

    I don’t think we’d have to do too much advertising for Fee Fee. I’m confident our community will be able to tell the difference.

    Will you delight in the Lord with me?

    Weekly “Active” -ities

    Come get active at Fee Fee.

    You can enjoy Pickleball on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. and Wednesdays at 10 a.m.

    Volleyball is also available Sundays at 6:30 p.m.  Both are in the gym.

    If spectator sports is more your speed, come out to Bridgeton Municipal

    Athletic Complex (BMAC) Friday nights this summer to cheer on our Men’s Softball team.  Check the calendar section of The Forerunner for game times.

    Security Seminar

    Larry Land will be hosting a free Security & Privacy seminar Saturday, June 20 at 10:00 a.m. in the dining room. The purpose of this seminar is to provide tools to protect yourself from scammers and hackers in today’s digital age. This will include both telephone and internet scams. All ages are welcome!

    International Food Pantry

    Donations  needed include:

    Applesauce cups, Pudding cups, Granola bars, Peanut butter, Pasta noodles, Pasta sauce, Cookies, Chili, Beef jerky, Canned fruit, Oatmeal

  • Y.A. Collective, Vol. 66, No. 6, June 2026

    Young Adult Collective Summer Schedule

    This summer, the Young Adult Collective will be taking a break from our regular Wednesday night Bible study schedule as we shift our focus toward fellowship and community-building gatherings throughout the season.

    One of the greatest gifts God gives the church is life together. While studying Scripture is essential, meaningful friendships and shared experiences are also an important part of spiritual growth. Summer provides a great opportunity for us to slow down a bit, spend time together, and strengthen the relationships that help encourage and support us in our walk with Christ.

    Throughout the summer, we will be hosting:

    • One monthly Young Adult activity or fellowship event
    • One monthly Young Adult lunch after church on the last Sunday of each month

    These gatherings are designed to help young adults connect more deeply with one another, welcome new people into community, and continue building relationships within the life of the church.

    We’re excited for a summer filled with conversation, laughter, encouragement, and time together. Whether you’ve been part of the Young Adult Collective for years or are looking to get connected for the first time, we’d love for you to join us.

  • Family Front, Vol. 66, No. 6, June 2026

    We don’t have any kids’ events scheduled for June and that is intentional. June is so busy with outreach through our mission trip in Alaska, community for our youth with their week-long trip to Indiana, and transitional with all our families moving from school to summer schedules. June is also major preparation time for our upcoming VBS in July!

    Speaking of VBS, we will soon have supply and prayer lists out, so be looking for those. Additionally, we just made a change to our Thursday night plans for the conclusion of VBS- we will now be grilling hot dogs and handing out nachos & chips instead of requesting food trucks. If you are a  foodie and willing to help with concession-stand type food, that would be amazing. Come let me know! For VBS itself, I am still looking for several volunteers to be crew leaders. If you would love to get to know a small group of kids and participate in a fun and energy filled week, please come find me. I can guarantee that you won’t be upset that you did- you might be tired, you might seek solitude after, but you will receive such joy that those things won’t matter nearly as much as you might think!

    Church, please continue to pray in earnest for our kids, their families, our volunteers/staff, and our programming.

    Save The Dates

    Timothy and Hosanna Noble concert – June 28

    Timothy Noble has participated in Fee Fee Summer Concerts since he was 15 years old.  Twelve years later Timothy is married to Hosanna and they work together as a singing pianist and violinist.  They have 4 children and travel full time doing concerts for churches, organizations and special events.

    They desire through their music they will bring glory and praise to our mighty God.

    Don’t miss hearing this duo in concert on June 28.  The concert will begin at 6:00 p.m. Join us for ice cream in our cafe following the concert.

    There is no charge for this concert, but a free will offering will be taken.

    In addition the following concerts are scheduled for this summer.

    July 19 – Doug Micken Comedic ventriloquist

    July 26 – Fee Fee Musicians

    August 2 – The Lesters – Gospel Singers

  • Bible Study & Outreach, Vol. 66, No. 6, June 2026

    Bible Study    

    Wednesday night Bible studies are over until September. As always, there are Bible studies for all ages on Sunday mornings at 9:15am.  One of our many greeters can help you find a group to join or so can Gloria.  Some studies are topical, some are video driven and many are expositional.  While personal scripture reading is essential for us all, getting together with a small group can help you to connect with others and lead to life transformation.  Try one and find out.

    Outreach

    Have you given a card to someone recently to invite them to church?  Have you had a gospel conversation with someone recently?  In the foyer and

    welcome center are business cards that make inviting or sharing with others easy.  The QR code on the card will provide information on the church and

    service times.  Since our mission is to connect people to the unifying and life-transforming power of the gospel, these little cards that easily fit into your purse or wallet are an effective tool to easily help you do just that.  Pick some up and be intentional about helping people to connect to the gospel!

    A Personal Note From Gloria

    God truly saved the best for last for me.  On June 30, I will retire for the third time.  I spent 25 years in public education, 10 more providing tutoring for children through the MO Baptist Children’s Home and Achievia Tutoring and over 10 serving on the staff at Fee Fee.  As I said, God saved the best for last.  I have enjoyed serving as Senior Adult Director, Bible Study Director, Women’s Ministry and Outreach.  It has been a joy to lead and serve with all of you at Fee Fee Baptist Church.  Thanks for all of your friendships and love you have shown to me through the years as I have been a member here for over 50 years!

    Oh yeah, and I’m not going anywhere – just folding into the flock with you!

    I’m sorry to say that our planned June 9 Katy Trail Tram trip has been cancelled. It was sold out even before we could get a call in for reservation. So we will try again later (probably will be September).

    Upcoming events:

                      June 19 – Grant’s Farm – leave 10am (lunch there)

    July 1 – dinner on the Hill, leave 4pm; Mo Botanical Gardens Concert of the US Air Force Band of Mid-America 7 pm (free to get in at 5:30). Take lawn chair and drinks if you want.

    Reflecting on Year 2

    June 9th marks the two-year anniversary of my time as Senior Pastor at Fee Fee. I find it hard to believe that Kenzie and I have already been here for two years, as it seems like yesterday we moved from Texas to join this wonderful church. In light of this anniversary, I want to take this opportunity to highlight again two areas of growth I have pushed for over the past two years and to encourage us to keep moving forward.

    Relentlessly Focusing on the Gospel

    Why do we exist as a church? Why do we gather on Sunday mornings? What hope do we have in this life and the next? As a church, the form of what we do (programs, events, weekly services) can sometimes steal our focus away from the reason behind everything we do—the gospel. We exist as a church because God, in his grace, has decided to save us through Jesus and bring us together into one body. We gather on Sunday mornings to celebrate what God has done, to remind each other of the power of the gospel, and to challenge each other to grow in the image of Jesus. Our hope—our only hope—is in the life, death, resurrection, present reign, and future return of Christ. As a church, my goal has been to relentlessly turn our focus to the gospel.

    Passionately Promoting Evangelism

    Just as the gospel is our only hope in this life and the next, the gospel is the only hope for the people outside our church. Our community needs Jesus. Lost people around the world need Jesus. And as people who have experienced the truth of the gospel, we need to share that truth with the world. I will continue to encourage each of us to grow in gospel proclamation.

    We have plenty of room to grow; no church, no matter how healthy, can every say they have “arrived.” In our case, over twenty years of plateau and decline has left us with a lot of room to grow numerically and spiritually. But I’m thankful for all the Lord has done over the past two years—and the two centuries before that—and I’m looking forward to all God is going to do in the years ahead!

    We are honoring graduates AND having a parent-child dedication. If you have graduated from high-school, university or trade school OR if you have a pre-K or younger child that you would like to have dedicated, please contact the church office as soon as possible so we can include you.

    Attention College Students

    2026-2027 Fee Fee scholarship applications are available online or in the café. Deadline is Sunday, May 17th.

    Alaska Mission Trip

    Pray for the Alaska mission team as they prepare to minister to the community of Wasilla, Alaska May 29 – June 6 . Prayer cards for the team will be available on May 24th.
